Another popular item that I paint quite a number in recent months - enamel utensil holders. Again, with generous flat surface, such items allow a wide variety of patterns to suit many different styles. This particular one is painted in rustic theme, including the old days oil lamp or pelita. It reminds me of the time long ago when pelita was a dependable light source in rural areas and plantation estates where I spent a large amount of my childhood. My mother used to collect many such lamps in different shapes and colours. Unfortunately as we moved from one estate to another, the lamps disappeared one by one.
